As
a unit, we do various activities both during our meeting and outside. After
Easter in 2003, we had a visit from WPC Lesley Owen and Paramedic Jane. Jane
was able to show the guides around the ambulance and to talk about what happens
in First Aid, once the paramedics take over. This followed up the first aid
course that was carried out by the guides, with St. John's Ambulance Service.
We were also able to arrange a visit from the police and the police talked about
personal safety.

This
term we have been busy organising a fashion show to raise money for two of the
senior section to go on international camp to the USA. The fashion show looked
at the different activities that guides take part in and things that our unit
have done. This included Swimming, Go Karting, Pioneering, and Hiking etc. Well
done to everyone who took part and thank-you to everyone who came along. The
night was a great success and the Brownies even sang some songs for us.
In mid October, the division organised a trip to Thorpe park for all the guides and leaders. We all had a great time and you can see some of us on the Ribena ride. Everyone went on lots of rides and there was some VERY wet leaders walking around the park.

We have also celebrated our units 60th birthday by looking at how guiding has changed through the decades. This included some of the guides dressing up in the different uniforms that have been worn during the time.
