Welcome to the Rottingdean & Saltdean District
Guides websites.
The Rottingdean & Saltdean District Girlguide
location is on the
south coast of England in the city of Brighton &
Hove, in the county of Sussex. We are on the eastern
side of the city boundaries where the hills of the
South Downs gently roll down to the seashore.
We are fortunate to be part of a cosmopolitan city (steeped in history and world recognition), living in
a semi rural setting and having our own beach.Click here or on

Girlguiding has recently gone through a
modernisation program making the Girlguide movement more
interesting and relevant to today’s society. Our
changes include different uniforms, attitudes and
easy access to information about the Girlguide
movement. Currently there are in the UK 650,000 Guides between the ages of 5
and 65 with one in three, eight year old girls in
the UK, being a Brownie Guide and the demand for places
is constantly
increasing.

help
Here
in the Rottingdean & Saltdean District we have an
extremely high demand for all our units. In order to
meet the demands we need support from parents as
unit helpers. Helping can be as little as attending
two unit meetings a term (if you are in our
helper rota scheme) or even becoming a warranted
Guider. Please spend TWO minutes checking out how

by post. You will
then be contacted by the district commissioner.

On the day Girlguiding UK announced a former Brownie
to be
our new President
HRH Sophie, Countess of Wessex
We require a warranted Guider to start a
new Rainbow Unit in Saltdean.
